Patrick Crutcher, MSc.

Patrick Crutcher, M.Sc., is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AstralBio, a privately held biotechnology company focused on treating cardiometabolic and immune-mediated diseases. A seasoned life sciences entrepreneur, he has co-founded and held board positions at several biotechnology startups, including Mach5 Therapeutics, Helicore Biopharma, and CrossBridge Bio (acquired by Eli Lilly in April 2026). Previously, Mr. Crutcher served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AlmataBio, a clinical-stage immunology company acquired by Avalo Therapeutics in March 2024. Prior to that, he was the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ValenzaBio, an immunology-focused biotech company acquired by Acelyrin. Earlier in his career, Mr. Crutcher was the Chief Strategy Officer for Cerecor Inc. (now Avalo Therapeutics) following its acquisition of Ichorion Therapeutics, a rare disease platform he co-founded. He holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois and an MSc. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
